The bleach gel formula breaks down into oxygen molecules, which then go into the pores of the dentin and enamel, breaking up stains that block out light. As these stains are broken into smaller and smaller parts, more light is able to pass through the teeth which makes them appear lighter.

Depending on the type of bleaching gel you use and the length of time you wear it for, you can see effects from within an hour to within three days. Depending on the nature of the stains, complete results can take a week or several months. The whitening procedure can last for up to three years.
